How Class 101 Helped a Zionsville Family Navigate Three College Applications at Once

Most parents brace themselves for one Senior year of college applications. Class 101 parent, Ashley, had three all under one roof.

If the thought of one student navigating essays, deadlines, and decisions feels like a lot, triple it.

That’s exactly what Ashley and her triplets, Olivia, Maddie, and Harry, took on this year, with a plan built by their Class 101 Advisor. The Zionsville family recently celebrated all three kids submitting their first college applications together. We sat down with Ashley to talk about how Class 101 helped her family through their first round of college applications and what she’d tell other parents of multiples about navigating the college planning process.

Three Kids, Three Different Paths

While the overall process looked the same for each of her kids on paper, Ashley says the details made it far more involved than a typical single-student application season. Harry is interested in engineering, while Olivia is applying to music programs, and these programs have two very different sets of expectations from admissions committees.

“Class 101 helped the triplets focus and fine-tune the specific things the different programs are looking for in their applications,” Ashley says.

When It Started to Feel Like Too Much

Ashley doesn’t sugarcoat it: there were moments of real overwhelm. “We absolutely had moments of overwhelm when we’d stop to think about doing this with three kids at once,” she says. What helped was having Class 101 guide each of them through the process. “It constantly brought us peace of mind that what needs to be done is being done, and that we aren’t missing important steps.”

A Plan for Each Student, Not One Plan for Three

As soon as each of the triplets started talking through their intended majors with their Class 101 Advisor, their individual plans took shape. Maddie is pursuing pre-med, so her Advisor helped her choose the right high school courses and then focus her applications and essays accordingly.

Harry and Olivia needed entirely different roadmaps: engineering and music programs look for different things, right down to course rigor. Because Harry has his sights set on Purdue for engineering, his Advisor made sure his high school schedule included the courses Purdue would want to see,  while rigor mattered less for Olivia’s path into music.

“Class 101 has just made sure that all these things we may not even know to think of are preemptively being considered,” Ashley shared.

Advice for Parents of Multiples

Ashley’s advice to other parents facing the same season with more than one student: trust the process. “It can absolutely feel so overwhelming and impossible at times, but I had to keep telling myself to trust the process, trust in my kids, and know that it will all work out as it is supposed to… and take it one day at a time.”

Having Class 101 in her corner made a real difference, she adds: “It has helped me be able to breathe a little easier and find comfort in knowing that the triplets are in great hands as they move through applying for college. We all want our kids to be happy and to support them in any way we can to achieve their goals and dreams. Class 101 has been one way we have been able to do just that.”

Class 101 Supports Parents and Students

Olivia, Maddie, and Harry’s application season proves that even the busiest season — times three — is manageable with the right support. Class 101 builds a plan around each student, not a one-size-fits-all checklist, so families like Ashley’s don’t have to navigate the process alone.

Whether you’re navigating one college application or several at once, Class 101 Advisors know how to build a plan around each student’s individual strengths, goals, and timeline.

How College Admissions Departments Evaluate Application Metrics in 2026

For years, students have treated their GPA as the headline number on their college applications. The higher the number, the better their chances, right? Not necessarily.  A GPA remains an important part of the admissions process, but it’s not a universal measurement. A 4.0 at one high school may represent something very different than a […]

Why Parents Need a College Plan, Too

What should they write about in their application essay? What do they want to study? Those are important questions, but there’s another person in […]
