Class 101 Owner Randy Stegemoller recently shared his expertise and resourceful information with the community through multiple news stations. We were proud to see him featured on our local channels!
SAT Test Preparation Tips
In a recent interview with WTHR’s Matthew Fultz, Randy discussed how students can prepare for the upcoming SAT test. His top tip: sign up for test prep courses a few months before the test date to maximize your performance on the ACT or SAT.
Taking a test prep course with an experienced advisor, such as those offered at Class 101, can greatly benefit students. Advisors can identify areas for improvement and coach students on becoming better test takers, leading to higher scores.
Another key preparation strategy is to practice taking the actual test beforehand. Practice tests give students an understanding of the test format, timing, and types of questions. With the new digital SAT, practicing on a digital test helps students feel fully prepared to navigate the test on their devices.
College Scholarship Opportunities
As local college prep experts, we also spoke with Allison Gormly from 13News about college scholarships. Randy recommended starting with national scholarship opportunities on popular websites like FastWeb.com, Scholarships.com and GoingMerry.com.
Next, explore your social circles. Employers, family members, and places of worship may offer scholarships. Additionally, reach out to your guidance counselor, high school, or community foundation for local opportunities. A helpful tip is to create a scholarship list and track application deadlines and required documents.
