But just as important as any test score, grade, resume builder, or achievement is selfless service of one\u2019s community. We believe in connecting every student with the opportunity to volunteer with local organizations doing great work for our neighbors. Class 101 Cares is a hub for volunteerism in the local area, allowing our students to connect with and give back to those around them. The purpose is twofold. A separator project demonstrates that a student is highly capable and driven, that they are motivated to take action in their community, and that they contribute, not just consume, in their educational journey. Thus, a well-executed separator makes a student more competitive in college admissions. More importantly, a separator project is an opportunity for a student to take full ownership for something they care about. These project push students to identify needs around them, brainstorm creative solutions, and work to make their community just a little better each day.
