This section will focus on key elements of reading and comprehension, rhetoric, and language.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Questions on the Reading and Writing section of the digital SAT will represent one of four content domains:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Craft and structure: This measures the comprehension, vocabulary, analysis, synthesis, and reasoning skills needed to understand and use common words and phrases in context, evaluate texts, and make connections between related texts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Information and ideas: This measures students\u2019 comprehension, analysis, reasoning skills, and the ability to locate, interpret, evaluate, and integrate information.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Standard English conventions: This measures the ability to conform to core conventions of Standard English usage, sentence structure, and punctuation.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Expression of ideas: This measures students\u2019 ability to revise texts to improve the effectiveness of writing and to meet specific rhetorical goals.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Changes that will be made to the SAT Reading and Writing sections include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; The Reading and Writing sections of the SAT will be merged into a single section rather than a separate Reading section and Writing section.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; There will no longer be long passages. Each brief text will include a single question.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Topics will be more varied and reflective of the reading students do in college.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>MATH SECTION OVERVIEW<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The Math section of the digital SAT comprises multiple-choice and student-produced response questions that measure the math concepts, skills, and practices that are essential for college-level work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Questions on the Math section will represent one of four content domains:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Algebra<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Advanced Math<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Problem-Solving and Data Analysis<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Geometry and Trigonometry<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Changes that will be made to the SAT Math section include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Calculators will be allowed for the entire <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Math section.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Word problems will be slimmed down.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>DIGITAL SAT TIMELINE AND ADMINISTRATION<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The digital SAT will be rolled out over a 12-month period as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Spring 2023: International testing centers will offer the digital SAT.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Fall 2023: Digital PSATs will be administered in the U.S.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">&#8211; Spring 2024: U.S. testing sites will administer the digital SAT.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students will continue to take the digital SAT Suite of Assessments in schools or testing centers during predetermined testing windows established by the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/satsuite.collegeboard.org\/digital\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">College Board<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. The digital SATSuite of Assessments may be taken on a personal or school-issued laptop or tablet (with the exception of personal Chromebooks).
