LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE NAMED 101 SCHOLAR RECIPIENT

STUART – Class 101 Treasure Coast presented recent John Carroll High School graduate Jenny
Miller with a Class 101 Scholar $500 scholarship.
The scholarship criteria was based on how a student makes a difference in his or her community,
leadership skills and academic achievement.

Miller was ranked fifth in her graduating class with a 5.5 GPA. She was named an AP Scholar and
received her AP Capstone Diploma. Jenny served her community in a variety of ways; she was a
peer tutor at John Carroll High School, a teacher’s assistant on Sundays at St. Joseph Catholic
School and she tutored struggling math students at St Anastasia Catholic School. Miller was a
leader and member of various clubs, a student-athlete and an avid dancer, specializing in ballet,
jazz, contemporary, and hip-hop.

She was accepted to the University of Notre Dame, the University of Florida, Saint Mary’s College,
the Colorado School of Mines, Villanova University, and the University of Central Florida. Miller
was awarded $248,000 in merit scholarship money and chose to attend Notre Dame.
“On behalf of Class 101 of the Treasure Coast, we are pleased to present Jenny Miller as this
year’s 101 Scholar $500 scholarship winner. We are very proud of Jenny Miller’s leadership
impact and impressed by her academic qualifications,” said Mike O’Leary, Class 101 Treasure
Coast owner. “This year’s applications for the 101 Scholar were impressive. It was inspiring to
learn about the applicants’ accomplishments, and it was difficult to select only one winner. In
the end, Jenny’s combination of leadership, community impact, and academic results made the
decision clear. Congratulations to Jenny and all of the applicants for their hard work and best
wishes in their future endeavors.”

Class 101 Treasure Coast will offer the 101 Scholar contest in 2023. An announcement
