Seniors are posting acceptance photos. Families are comparing financial aid packages. Group texts are full of \u201cWhere are you going?\u201d conversations. Some students feel relieved. Others are recalculating. A few are surprised by final costs in ways they did not anticipate a year ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are the parent of a current junior, this is your preview.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every senior making a decision right now was a junior exactly one year ago. The financial conversations they are having this month were shaped by decisions made last spring. The college lists they are choosing from were built during junior year. The scholarship outcomes being compared were largely determined by GPA trends and testing strategy in 11th grade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

April is not just decision season. It is positioning season for the class behind them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are a junior watching this unfold, here is what should be happening right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First, your college list should be taking shape in a serious way. Not a loose collection of names, but a thoughtful balance of fit, probability of admission, and probability of affordability. You are not behind if you are just starting to think about this. But this is the moment to move from casual conversation to structured planning. Waiting until fall compresses everything and increases stress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are now scheduling strategy consultations for juniors who want to enter summer with a defined college list, a testing plan, and a clear understanding of affordability.
