Dr. Naomi G. Barnes and Dr. Patrice A. Williams-Shuford have spent their lives educating students in a variety of capacities, and they are excited to be bringing their years of expertise to their roles as Class 101 college planning advisors.
Naomi earned her B.S. in Elementary Education from Jackson State University, her M.S. in Supervision and Administration from Nova University and her Ed. D. in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She has been a teacher, Resource Specialist, and principal. She has also been a lead teacher at the Department of Juvenile Justice in her local community.
Patrice earned her B.S. degree in English and Psychology from the University of South Alabama, her M.A. in English Literature from the University of Mobile, her Ed.S. in English Education from Florida State University, and her Ed.D. in Higher Ed. Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has spent her career in education as an English teacher, an English professor, and a post-secondary advisor and administrator.
Naomi and Patrice understand the importance and value that education brings to the lives of young people. They say, “Proper planning yields successful students.”
