FAFSA Experts

The FAFSA Simplification Act required a significant redesign of the FAFSA form for the 2024-2025 application. The updates pushed back the FAFSA timeline for this year’s senior families from the typical October 1st application open date to late December. Even now, in January 2024, the FAFSA remains in a soft launch. The FAFSA website currently shares that “The FAFSA form is available for short periods of time while we monitor site performance and update the form to provide you with a better experience.”

Our Class 101 families are having mixed results accessing the forms, and while we initially encouraged families to complete the form, we now advise waiting until late January or early February to complete the FAFSA once the technical issues are worked out. FAFSA has shared that the form information will not be shared with schools, states, or scholarship organizations until the end of the month, so Class 101’s newest recommendation is to wait to complete the form.

FAFSA Experts

Our team of experienced college advisors are FAFSA experts and assist families with the FAFSA application process every year. We stay on top of the updates so they don’t have to. We’re grateful to be able to provide this assistance to our community and share advice when others reach out to us. RTV6 and WTHR news stations in Indianapolis recently contacted Class 101 with questions about the new FAFSA and what families should know.

Class 101’s Randy Stegemoller spoke with Lauren Casey at RTV6, Angelia Robinson at WTHR, and Allison Gormly on What’s The Deal on WTHR to discuss important FAFSA changes and share advice for high school seniors and their families.
