Oh my goodness! Amy and Class 101 have been nothing short of a godsend during the college preparation and application process that can be overwhelming even when things are going smoothly! Amy and her expertise take so much pressure off of the family dynamic because she becomes the adult to which the student is accountable. Parents can focus on the myriad other responsibilities of raising a family, knowing that college selections, applications, test preparation, and scholarship opportunities are being overseen by an expert.
Our first son began working with Amy the summer before his junior year when we were first made aware of this opportunity. Our second son will benefit from beginning to work with her even earlier in his college search! My husband Dean and I could not be more pleased. Our son Henry loves meeting with Amy regularly – her positive approach and clear expectations make him feel successful and valued. She has helped him feel confident as a young man who deserves as prepared as possible to make a great college choice!
I would highly recommend Amy Nixon and Class101 as she is currently helping my son thru the process of college applications, SAT and ACT test prep, and all of the essays and resume. She is a wonderful asset to me as a parent, as she is not only reiterating what I am saying to my son, but she is helping him to stay on track. Additionally, as both my husband and I work and have very busy lives, one of the best things that Amy does is that this is ALL she does. She knows all of the ins and outs of different colleges, who to get in touch with, knows deadlines – and takes all of that off of my plate. I so appreciate Amy and all that she is doing to help my son find the right college for him. I would highly highly recommend her to any parent (and I would start way earlier than we did!!!). Thank you Amy!

Amy received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an Master in Health Sciences from Boise State University. Her nursing career has always focused on children and she has worked as a Pediatric nurse, a Neonatal nurse and a school nurse. Amy made the decision to make a career change, but she knew that she still wanted to be a positive force in the lives of children and young people. Amy’s research led her to Class 101 and she soon realized that her philosophies aligned with theirs and that she could continue to make a difference for students and their families through college planning.
Amy and her husband, Craig, are the parents of Julia and Cooper-both accomplished athletes who will soon begin their own college search.
