Class 101-Dayton awarded six scholarships to outstanding seniors in the Class of 2026 this year. The Jamison Scholarship and the 101 Scholar programs recognize the need to encourage students who excel outside of traditional academics or athletics.
Three $500 Jamison Scholarships were awarded to seniors who demonstrated a passion for the performing arts by participation in vocal music, instrumental music, dance, or theater during their high school years. The scholarships honor Beth Jamison, a vocal music teacher at Springboro High School who passed away in 2021. This year’s recipients all attended Springboro High School. Jenna Oesterlin, a colorguard/winterguard performer, will attend Xavier University to major in Psychology. Emma Heaton, who appeared on stage in numerous school and community productions, will attend Ohio University to study Cellular & Molecular Biology. And Ellie Fuller, who excelled in piano music performance, will attend Denison University to major in Biology and continue her studies in piano.
In addition to the Jamison Scholarships, Class 101-Dayton gave two local 101 Scholar awards to members of the Class of 2026 who made a difference in their communities. Caroline Mayo, a graduate of Springboro High School, will attend Miami University. The 101 Scholar award recognized her leadership as a coach to her dance studio’s younger competition teams and for founding her high school’s dance team. Grayson Roe, a graduate of Centerville High School, will attend Indiana University-Bloomington’s Kelley School of Business. The 101 Scholar award recognized his efforts to launch and lead More Than One, an interscholastic community service group that supported many organizations including Ronald McDonald House Charities and Shoes for the Shoeless.
In addition to providing $2,500 in local scholarships, Class 101-Dayton presented a $3,000 national 101 Scholarship to Prisha Rajulapalli, a Springboro High School graduate who was chosen from a national applicant pool. Only four such scholarships are awarded nationally. In addition to many high school graduation honors, Prisha is a Stamps Eminence Scholar at The Ohio State University.
In the Class of 2026, Class 101-Dayton’s students achieved a 92 percent acceptance rate and earned more than $35.5 million in merit scholarship offers. The full 2026 Senior Profile for Class 101-Dayton can be seen here.
Class 101 empowers students and serves families with personalized college planning, including test prep, student resume development, essay workshops, and college applications and scholarship assistance. Class 101-Dayton currently works with students in grades ten through 12 from more than 25 high schools.
