101 Scholarships

Local program to award at least four high school students in 2024

Class 101-Dayton and its owners, Karen and Tony DeRosa, will award at least four local scholarships to graduating seniors this spring. These scholarship programs are not limited to Class 101 students; they are open to all students.

Jamison Find Your Voice Scholarship
The DeRosas created the Jamison Find Your Voice Scholarship in 2023 to honor their friend Beth Jamison. Beth was a beloved music teacher, mentor, and friend who passed away in November 2021. Her legacy lives on in thousands of her students. In Beth’s classroom, choirs, and musicals, all students were welcomed and encouraged to find and share their unique voice. Guided by her faith, Beth saw the best in every student and proved music could be an incredible force for understanding and equality in our schools and communities. Class 101 – Dayton and the DeRosa family will award $500 in Beth’s honor to a deserving graduating high school senior who demonstrated a passion for the performing arts by participation in vocal music, instrumental music, dance, and/or theater during their high school years. Students do not need to pursue college studies in the arts to be awarded the scholarship. Scholarship information is available in the Class 101 office and also online here: https://forms.gle/CATkAGbbehxuebAt6

101 Scholar
The 101 Scholar program will open on February 15 for scholarship applications through April 15, 2024.  The 101 Scholars represent students who demonstrate leadership in making their community a better place. This year, four students will be chosen to win $3000 each in the national contest. In addition to the national competition, Class 101-Dayton will award at least three $500 local scholarships in the Miami Valley. High school students–grades nine through 12–who are passionate about making a difference in their communities through volunteerism or creating their own service projects are encouraged to apply. here: https://www.class101.com/101scholar/
