Class 101 Receives Warren County Foundation Small Business Award

Class 101-Dayton received the Outstanding Community Service Small Business Award from the Warren County Foundation at their 17th Annual Community Service Awards on June 6, 2024 at the Manor House in Mason.

The special event included the presentation of Community Service Awards in six categories: The George R. Henkle Philanthropy & Community Service Award, the Emerging Leader Community Service Award, the Outstanding Organization Community Service Award, the Emerging Organization Community Service Award, the Outstanding Large Business Community Service Award, and the Outstanding Small Business Community Service Award.

In the presentation of the award, Steve Rudisill, Pastor of Summit United Methodist Church,  described how Class 101 encourages students to engage in service, often inviting students to join them in placing flags for the Springboro Optimist Avenue of Flags, assembling blankets for Honor Flight, or collecting school supplies or toys for families in need. Class 101-Dayton also volunteers with numerous scholarship programs, including those for the Springboro Orchestra Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Optimist International. Owners Karen and Tony DeRosa launched the Excellence is a Habit Scholarship Fund through the Warren County Foundation to award multiple scholarships to graduating seniors each year. And in 2024, Class 101 launched More Than One, a student-led organization dedicated to service in our communities.

The DeRosas accepted proclamations from State Representative Scott Lipps, State Senator Steve Wilson, and Governor Mike DeWine (not pictured).
