Class 101, a national network of college planners, recognized the Class 101 Dayton location and owners Karen and Tony DeRosa with the National Franchise of the Year Award at the company’s national convention at High Point University on June 28. The DeRosas opened the first Class 101 in the Miami Valley in August 2018, and it quickly became one of the top performing locations in the nation.
The National Franchise of the Year Award recognizes talent and execution in serving Class 101 students and families. This award also recognizes business owners who contribute to and support fellow Class 101 entrepreneurs and “serve as an inspiration across the entire Class 101 brand.” Karen Lane DeRosa participates in multiple initiatives for the national organization, including the Franchise Advisory Board.
Class 101 Dayton’s students have achieved a 92.4% acceptance rate with more than $13.9 million in merit scholarship offers for the Class of 2021. In addition, 44% of seniors were awarded with one or more outside scholarships from local, regional, state, corporate, non-profit, and national scholarship programs this year.
Class 101 Dayton is the first Class 101 in the history of the company to receive three consecutive, different national awards. In 2019, Class 101 Dayton received the Rookie of the Year award. And in 2020, Class 101 Dayton received the National Growth Award.
