Jenny Simmons

Junior Planner / Math

Hello. My name is Jenny Simmons and I am very happy to be a part of Class101 and work with the outstanding team members Amber has assembled. My favorite thing throughout my thirty-five-year teaching career - thirty-four years at Saltillo High School and one year at the University of Hawaii - is helping students become better prepared for college or the workplace. At SHS, I taught all levels of math including state-tested Algebra I, Advanced Placement Calculus, and College Algebra. While at Saltillo, I earned a Masters's Degree and National Board Certification.  I was named Lee County Teacher of the Year, and, in 2015, was chosen as The Mississippi Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching winner.  After retirement in 2018, I worked around the state of Mississippi as a mathematics consultant.  During my career, I enjoyed watching my students grow, succeed, and become great community members. At Class101, I am once again getting to do all those things. When I am not at Class101, I spend time with my family: husband, Tim, son, Jack, and daughter, Julie. I am an active member of First Baptist Church Saltillo and love being part of the mission activities they provide.

Our Tupelo Students Say It Best

will-c

My experience with Class 101 has been amazing to say the least. When I joined, I had a
24 on my ACT. After only 2 short years, I increased my score to a 30 due to the weekly ACT
practice classes. Additionally, Class 101 has played a pivotal role in enrolling me into college.
Mrs. Amber McHenry helped me every step of the way from enrollment to scholarships. I truly
believe that Class 101 is the reason I’m getting to go to a great college.

Will Chappell

For over two years now, I have been a part of Class 101. Class 101 has helped me raise
my ACT score, prepare for college, and apply to tons of scholarships. Without this organization,
I would not even know where to begin in preparing for college.
