Webinar: What Actually Happens When a College Opens Your Child’s Application – 11/2

Your child spent months on that application. It will be read once, by one person, in roughly eight minutes.

Teege Mettille spent two decades inside college admissions and enrollment management, up to the vice-president level — reading files, training readers, and building the models that decided who got an offer and how large it was. In this free 45-minute session, he walks families through the entire path an application takes, from submit to decision.

You’ll leave knowing:

  • What happens to a file the moment it arrives, and the quiet reason incomplete applications never get read
  • Who reads your student’s file, how long they have, and what they are scoring
  • The three-to-six-line summary that replaces your child for everyone who decides after the first read
  • How your high school’s profile shapes the way your student’s transcript is judged
  • The three different ways colleges actually make decisions, and which one your student will meet
  • Why strong students get deferred — and why it is usually not about the student
  • What genuinely moves an outcome, ranked, and what families waste their worry on
  • What readers are seeing in AI-assisted essays this cycle, from the reading side of the desk

Who this is for: Parents of students in grades 9 through 12. Seniors’ families will leave with a checklist for the next thirty days; juniors’ and underclassmen’s families will leave knowing what to build now, while there is still time to build it.

Every registrant receives the two-page take-home sheet by email, including the eight questions your student should answer for their school counselor. The session is recorded and sent to everyone who registers.

Bring your questions. There is no such thing as too basic in this room.

Presented by Teege Mettille, Class 101 Waukesha-Brookfield · 15850 W Bluemound Rd, Suite 101 · Author of College Is Broken.
