“John Izzo, with Class 101 Pittsburgh, has been a huge blessing to our daughter and to us. We only have been working together for three months, and the guidance and information we have already been given has been amazing. John is extremely personable, knowledgeable, and helpful. We are excited about the next few years and this entire process. He has definitely made it less daunting and stressful. I would highly recommend John, and Class 101 Pittsburgh, to help anyone through the college preparation and selection process.”
“After having navigated one child through the process of applying to college, essays, accepting, and figuring out the financing we realized we were missing opportunities and good advice. John Izzo has been outstanding in supporting, guiding and advising our son through this process. He is in contact with him on a regular basis, guiding him to colleges that match his interests, researching scholarships and supporting him with SAT/ACT prep. I recommend him unequivocally.”
“Have only had a couple of meetings with John, one of which has been helping my daughter set her schedule for next year. What a huge help! Just knowing John is there to lend a helping, guiding hand in all this college prep is a huge comfort!”
“College-bound kids….we highly recommend Class 101 and John Izzo. He has helped James prepare for the ACT and he ended up doing so well on it we couldn’t be happier! He got the score to get into the college he has set his sights on!!! His support and guidance on all things college is such relief because with James being our first….it’s a little overwhelming!!”
John Izzo has spent his career in education and now brings that expertise to his role as a Certified College Planner. John earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Westminster College and his Master’s degree in School Counseling from Youngstown State University. John has worked as a School Guidance Counselor and has served as Director of Instruction and Advisement for EdisonLearning, Inc. He knows first hand what is involved in the college planning process.
“As a school counselor, I realized there was little time spent on preparing high school students for college and career planning. Choosing colleges should be an exciting time but families oftentimes find it intimidating and stressful” says John.
“Class 101 helps students and parents take the steps to make this process exciting again. By helping students with career planning, college list creation, test prep, campus visits, scholarships, financial planning and walking them through the application process, students will have all the tools to reach their fullest potential.”
John is excited to be a part of each student’s journey and is pleased to be bringing the proven system of Class 101 to the Pittsburgh community.
