101 Scholar | Scholarships for College

The 101 Scholar Program is back! Class 101 will be awarding four high school students, nationwide, who make a difference in their community through volunteerism or creating a service project. Each student will win a $1,000 scholarship, and applications will be accepted beginning March 1, 2021 until May 1, 2021.

The 101 Scholar represents students who exemplify demonstrated leadership in making their community a better place. Since the program started in 2017, Class 101 has granted $6,000 in scholarships to six high school students across the United States.

This year, the scholarship is based 60% on making a difference in the community, 30% on demonstrating leadership and 10% on achievement in academics. All high school students, regardless of grade, are eligible to apply.

“At Class 101, we know that college can be expensive, with costs topping six figures,” says Tom Pabin, Class 101 Founder and CEO. “Getting that cost down for students and families is one of our top priorities, and one of the ways we can do that is by awarding national scholarships.”

To apply, students are asked to create a video between 60 and 90 seconds sharing what they do to make a difference and have a positive impact on their community. Students must also write a 400 word personal statement about how they are demonstrating leadership. Finally, students must submit their most recent transcript. This year, the four winning students will be chosen from a panel of three judges: Andy Bills, Walter Bond and Sarah Madison. Andy Bills is the Senior Vice President at High Point University where he is responsible for directing all enrollment service offices, serving as the Chief Enrollment Officer. Walter Bond is a former NBA player turned CEO, Author, and Keynote Speaker. Sarah Madison is the Director of Employer Relations at University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics.

We encourage all students to apply if they believe this sounds like the perfect opportunity for them. For more information on the application process, please visit: Class101.com/101scholar
