We tailor PSAT prep to each student’s educational needs by identifying knowledge and skill gaps and other areas to strengthen. Through baseline assessments, targeted practice, and progress tracking, we create a focused strategy that helps students make the most of every study session and build skills with purpose.
Establishing a clear starting point is essential for focused PSAT preparation. We begin with a baseline assessment to identify each student’s strengths, pinpoint areas for improvement, and uncover opportunities to build stronger test-taking skills.
With a clear understanding of current performance, we can develop a personalized preparation plan that targets each student’s specific needs and makes every study session more purposeful.
Personalized PSAT tutoring helps students focus on the skills that can make the greatest difference in their preparation. We combine targeted practice with strategic test preparation, adapting each session to the student’s individual needs and progress. Ongoing score tracking gives students and families a clear view of their progress, while focused practice exercises and testing make every study session productive.
We view the PSAT as an important step in a student’s broader college preparation journey. By connecting PSAT preparation to long-term SAT readiness and college planning, we help students build skills early and carry that progress forward as they prepare for the next stages of the admissions process.
Mastering the content is only part of effective PSAT preparation. We also help students develop practical test-taking strategies that build confidence, improve efficiency, and support stronger performance. Our approach helps students:
The PSAT/NMSQT provides more than a single overall score. Students receive a Reading and Writing score from 160–760 and a Math score from 160–760. These two section scores are added together to produce a total score ranging from 320–1520. The PSAT/NMSQT and SAT use a common scoring scale, so section scores can also provide a useful benchmark for tracking growth as students move toward the SAT.
The PSAT/NMSQT also reports a National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) Selection Index, which ranges from 48–228 and is calculated using the Reading and Writing and Math section scores. This Selection Index is used in the National Merit Scholarship Program’s qualification process, making PSAT/NMSQT performance particularly relevant for eligible students seeking National Merit recognition.
Understanding these different scores helps students see more than a number. Section scores can reveal where additional preparation may be valuable, while progress from one assessment to the next can help students and families track overall academic growth and material understanding.
